How is Rocky.ai different from building on Lovable, ChatGPT, Claude, Bubble, or a GPT wrapper?

Those tools give you an interface; Rocky.ai gives you the coaching architecture. The hard part of a coaching product was never the chat window — it's the questioning method, cross-session memory, accountability loop, roleplay assessment, analytics and compliance, all of which Rocky.ai provides out of the box.

Lovable, Bolt, Bubble and FlutterFlow are excellent tools. They're the wrong tools for this specific job, and it's worth being precise about why.

Here's the timeline teams actually experience:

• Month 1 — you wire an LLM into a chat UI. It works. Everyone's delighted.
• Month 2 — you notice it gives advice instead of coaching. An LLM's reflex is to answer; coaching is the discipline of not answering. Constraining that reliably is genuinely hard.
• Month 3 — nobody's experience carries over. You start building a memory layer. This is a system, not a prompt.
• Month 4 — someone asks for progress tracking. You build goals. Then reminders. Then a manager view. You are now building an application.
• Month 6 — the agent contradicts your HR policy. You add retrieval, then discover generic RAG isn't enough, because the base model's advice keeps out-competing your content.
• Month 8 — Legal asks about PII and GDPR. Everything stops.
• Month 9 — someone asks whether it works on a phone.

None of that is a failure of skill. It's that you set out to buy a coaching capability and accidentally started a software project.

The rule of thumb: use a general app builder if the app is the product. Use a coaching platform if the coaching is the product.
